Want to achieve a completely new look in your kitchen? Paint your cabinets. White is always a classic or try a fun, new color! It is easy and can be done in a weekend. 
To start, take off the hardware and doors. Make sure you label each door so you can put it back on easily. Paint the doors in a well-ventialated area with enamel paint. Paint the frames after covering the counters, sink, and floors. Allow to dry and then add new hardware.
To spruce up the cabinets you can also add wood moldings. Attach the moldings with glue, paint, and voila! a new look!
Adding glass to a few of the cabinets will add character to your kitchen. This is a beautiful way to display your fine china or collectibles.
